I have a flowering pear tree that was damaged with a weed whacker. I was wondering why it was not growing like my second one which is now twice the size as the other. Both trees are now three years old. Upon inspection I noticed the tree trunk damage. The damage is around the total of the base of the tree. I now know that I should have had some protection around the base but that is 20 20 hind sight. Thanks for the help!

Do you like being crammed together, or would you prefer a detached house with a garden? (Further from the shops, detached are.)

It's about 10 years old & this is the first year it's bloomed. Only 3 or 4 clusters all together. Any suggestions on pruning it would also be helpful.

When calculating the total area of a house to put it on the market do you take into consideration bathrooms, hallway, garage, garden, staircase? Or do you just add up the areas of bedrooms, living/reception, dining and kitchen (that's what I've been told)?
Thank you!

I don't know how the dial timer works. There's a 'hour boost' that doesn't seem to do anything. Does it use a lot of electricity. How can I save that?

After running the compressor serval mins. the braker would trip I would reset the braker and the braker would do it again within a few mins. The distance from the panel to the receptacle is 50 feet. It is a 12-2 wireingin a metal receptacle box.

Our closing date is Oct. 13th and it needs some work before we move in, how soon can we start on it? Do we have to wait until closing? We already have been approved for the loan. We just have to wait for appraisal, inspection, and survey.

Our house currently is on a well and they are hooking all of the lots on our street up to city water. We simply have to pay to connect from our house to the street. I want to know how extensive of a project this is and how expensive it is. Our house is only 10 years old, so everything is up to code right now.

I have my pj's stuck under the agitator of my Moffat washer machine. The draw-string is wrapped around under the agitator and I cannot pull it out. I know that with most washers you can unscrew the top of the agitator and pull it off. With this Moffat, there is a cap, and underneath there is a screw of some kind, but there is no way that I can see to get it off. It is like a round circle, but it has teeth around it... about 1.5 cm acrossed.

Anyway, if anyone knows if there is something I can use or if there is another way that I should be going about to get it off, please let me know. I really don't want to call in the repair person for something like this...

The washer is probably of the 80's era. No specific model number. If I get a chance, I will post a link to a photo.

Cheers, skipR.

Live in a condo complex with a very strange thermostat. It has two high voltage wires (not sure if 110v or 220v) going to a fan control (low/med/high) then from there, it goes to the thermostat (for both heat/cool). Trouble is, it's old, the know is very hard to turn and I would like to replace with a modern 24V thermostat. Had an AC guy out that said it can be done, but that I would need an electrician to add voltage transformers...says he had a system done and cost near $300. Can I do this myself? How? Or can I just buy a new line voltage thermostat? Trouble is, the ones I have found only do heat or cool, not both.

I really do want to find someone to clean my house. For free. I'm sure they're out there somewhere. And I'm sure it will take a lot of looking to find this special individual.

Why is it against regulations? What is the problem that this question creates? What gives?
