I have a small rose bush that my mom bought for me from the grocery store. I had it indoors and it almost completely died. I then planted it in a larger pot and put it outdoors on my porch and it has done wonderful since. Now that winter is coming I'll have to bring it back in or it will die. Does anyone have any useful tips for keeping it alive indoors?

I am literally living in one of the poorest neighborhoods. I have no kitchen cabinets b/c I couldn't afford a more expensve apartment. I am living on a very limited budget and cannot afford to buy cabinets. Freecycle Poster had metal cabinets to offer but refused to let me p/u because I wanted to use them in my kitchen, said they belong in basement or garage because she felt they weren't asthetically pleasing enough. She simply refused to let me make my own mind up. This is on freecycle where we're supposed to be keeping things out of the landfill. I have had to live with aesthetically unpleasant furniture, cabinets, etc. before. I knew what I was getting yet she insisting on making the decision on whether or not it was worth it to me - someone several levels beneath her tax bracket - to pick up these cabinets.

I really think it is getting less hot. At first I thought it was just a perception phenomenon but this is the second house we have had it.

Our water is heated with natural gas.

My son is 3 months old and up to this point I've been doing his laundry seperately from mine. Do I still need to do this? I don't much care, I suppose, whether I use Dreft or adult detergent like Tide, but I'm tired of doing extra loads of laundry, when his clothes could easily fit in with mine. Should I worry about formula stains from his clothes getting on mine?

I live in New England. My white vinyl siding has developed small black spots on it. They are about the size of a pin head and are raised. You can scrape the raised portion off and they feel soft but they leave behind a black spot. Nothing seems to remove them. I have tried several cleaners, scrubbing and pressure washing. They are not a mold as bleach products have no effect. Someone said it may be sap from a nearby pine tree but I tried a bug and tar remover with no luck. I was also told that it may be spores from the mulch spread in the flower bed below. Any suggestions?

I need to sell ASAP. I packed up most of my things and put them in storage. Then my mother moved in with me and I put most of hers in storage. (Two 10X20 storage units for $187.50) My house is still FULL and I can't afford another storage unit and the fix up and repair costs. I have my sick mom, a teenage daughter, an 11 month old child, myself, and no unpaid help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have a tree in my front garden just by the road and a neighbour keeps saying it can't be that high. Is she correct - or is she getting confused - perhaps with the maximum height of fences between gardens? I see lots of tall trees around everywhere - can you think of any legal height restriction which could relate to this?

I am working with a South Florida community that is thinking of putting in some Crape Myrtle Trees. Perhaps, 20-40 around their community. I have heard that if the winter is not very mild, they lose their leaves and look bare. However, I also heard that and they would only stay bare for a few months. Can you please give me your opinion on the Crape Myrtle Tree. The community likes very colorful, flowery, and full trees. They are strongly leaning towards the Crape Myrtle but I don't want to see them end up with a "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree". Thanks!

My lawn has a number of tree roots breaking the ground. Not only is it a bumpy mowing exercise but also takes away some from the appearance of the lawn. I am considering covering the roots with mud and putting grass seeds on the mud pile. Any other suggestions? I am not about to cut all the trees in my yard, so please don't suggest that.

I need a fridge or fridge/freezer that can be kept in a garage and/or a cold kitchen. Most fridge/freezers seem to only operate between 10 - 30 degrees and stop working in cold conditions.
Can you help me track one down?
