I need to sell ASAP. I packed up most of my things and put them in storage. Then my mother moved in with me and I put most of hers in storage. (Two 10X20 storage units for $187.50) My house is still FULL and I can't afford another storage unit and the fix up and repair costs. I have my sick mom, a teenage daughter, an 11 month old child, myself, and no unpaid help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well, you've already put some stuff in storage, so that's good.

Just make sure that the house is kept clean at all times. Keep clutter and toys off the floor, make the beds first thing in the morning. Clean the dishes as soon as possible. Don't leave anything lying around. Your teenager should help you with all this.

My dad was in the Air Force, so we had to do this often. Whenever we were selling, we just kept everything as clean as possible. We didn't have the time to put things in storage. My parents never had trouble selling.

It's tough, but keep everything as clean and tidy as possible all the time. This gives you less to pick up when someone's coming to look at the house. The less clutter, the better. If you have a lot of tchotckes around (knick-knacks, pictures, extra sofa cushions, other unnecessary STUFF) put them in a box under the bed or somewhere. Try to make sure it smells good all the time. (Buy some frozen bread dough and throw it in the oven when you know someone's coming over, or put a small pot of water on the stove to boil with cinnamon sticks and orange peels in it.) If possible, send your older daughter out to walk the baby when the house is being shown. If anything is obviously wrong, like leaky faucets, broken window blinds, etc. get it fixed.

T hey say to have it as clean as possible, closets, cupboards etc. Any nic-nacs, family pictures should be put in a box and maybe stored in the basement. When someone comes to look at the house have your lamps turned on and in the kitchen you should try to have the scent of an apple, There are several ways of doing that. Plus I have heard that placing a statue of ST. Joseph upsidedown in your in your backyard might sell a house quickly, but I'm not sure of that one! Good luck

You don't say what kind of things you need done.
I can only suggest that you call on family and friends to help fix the place up.
Do you have a garage that you can use as storage? Or maybe a relatives basement or garage? Or the basement or garage of a friend?
I'd let you use my basement, but you're probably too far away for it to be convenient.

Just keep it clean. and I mean spottless. Dificult to do with an infant, but that will work better than anything. A dirty house looks run down. a clean house looks refreshing and inviting.

Also take down any pictures of family etc. Makes the house seem like someone elses. Difficult for a prospective buyer to take ownership.

Good luck

Forecasters don't be responsive to squat. You examine out any forecast for something 2 years in the past and notice how properly they did. grew to become into each and every physique predicing gasoline at $3+ a gallon decrease back then? Or that unemployment would be at 4.5%? financial forecasting is purely a wager. do no longer act rashly on somebody else's wager. look, till you propose on shifting to a distinctive section any time quickly, purely stay in there and experience your place. you would be paying down the loan as you pass. 2 years from now the industry would desire to be down, or point, or up. no one incredibly is conscious. that is purely over the long-term are you able to have faith in housing expenses to boost.

Well everything you put in storage was obviously stuff you can live without.. have a huge yard sale and get rid of it.. then use that storage space for the stuff still left in your house..

I'm in a similiar situation myself. I believe one of the answers you got was right on target. Go around the house and clean it like you've never cleaned it before...and yes it'll be tough...but keep it that way...cause you'll never know...if you have any painted walls, other than white..best thing you can do is paint them white/off white...allows a potential buyer to see house as a clean slate. Make any necessary repairs and just keep in mind that your house is "on display"....

Clean it as best you can (you seem to have made the effort to remove the clutter-important).

Ask for appointments to view, due to your personal situation.

Create a noticeable 'flyer' and put in a conspicuous spot (dining table) stating simply your baby, teenager, ill mother, etc.

Buy a frozen apple pie - keep in oven - turn on prior to next appointment!
