They are very hardy plants. I have several around the house and pool. Great in hot weather areas as they require little water. I guess you could get some weed killer and pour on the roots. I had a very large bush that I cut down. I didn't want to spend the time digging it up so I got some real strong weed killer. I poured the whole gallon on it and covered it with landscape rocks. Haven't seen it since. Might work on the yuccas.

I dug one up as best I could, then pulled sprouts for two years. Some of the tubers were more than 16 inches deep. Tubers will contine to sprout; they are very vigorous.

If you are dilligent and remove every sprout as soon as you can, you eventually will starve the tubers. ROUNDUP on each sprout will do the trick, but it can be hard to keep it off other plants where sprouts emerge.

I know what you are going thru there. My husband dug one up, left it out of the ground since June and as of yesterday that darn thing still has green leaves. The spot it was dug out of is sprouting more, despite 3 sprayings of round up/ brush killer on it. My next couse of action is trial by fire, i intend to treat this thing as if it was a stubborn stump.

go to www.freecycle.org, find your local free cycle. Post that you have free yuccas for anyone who wants them if they dig them up. There are allways small landscape startup businesses that love to take them for free.

Also craigslist.org is good too
