this website helps if you want to check on weather on daily basis. I live in an area where the summers are really hot sometimes as high as 104 degrees or more and then there's winter, pretty much you can survive with a hooded sweater, very few days do you need a jacket. I love this weather!!!
Peace.

I've lived all over the eastern half of Texas. Down on the Gulf coast (Beaumont and Houston areas) winters are mild, with a very few days that get down to freezing or below. When it gets cold, though, it gets darn cold -- it just doesn't stay cold for more than one or two days. Summers aren't too hot -- upper 90s -- but they are humid and sticky. It was nothing to have a 98 degree day with 98 percent humidity. Fall and spring aren't bad, but can have the occasional extreme day (hot or cold).
In the piney woods of East Texas, around Tyler, the weather is generally very nice. Winter has more colder days than on the coast, but they're dryer cold days. It will "snow" occasionally in this area, but it's Texas snow (read: ice crystals, not fluffy snow like in the north). Summer is a little hotter, temperature wise -- you'll get more 110+ days, but the humidity is lower, so it seems a little more bearable to me. Fall is lovely, because the trees do change colors (not like in the northeastern states, but there is some change), and spring is lovely with lots of blooming things and both cool and warm days.
In DFW, where I've lived since April this year, it gets darn hot in the summer. We had 40+ days of over 100 degree temps this summer. Whew! It's very dry here compared to the other two areas I mentioned. The wind blows a lot, though, so that helps a little. I found it difficult to acclimate to the heat, though, and toward the middle to end of August, I would up with several heat-related headaches. So far, fall has been nice. We've gotten some lows below 60 degrees already, in fact, and a couple days in the low 80s for highs. NIce! I'm excited to see what winter and spring bring!
