You can get a product at the Lowes that will not only remove the mold, but it kills the spores and leaves a protective residue that prevents regrowth. It is called DampRid Mold & Mildew Remover and Protector for Fabrics. I usually use a scotchguard type spray waterproofer (Target sells a great one) after I treat the mold. I do this once a season and have had no further problems with mold or mildew.

I have also had good success with DampRid Mold and Mildew Remover.....Be sure to use any chemicals outside, away from plants, birdbaths, or anything they could damage. And, of course, never use bleach on any material that isn't meant to be bleached. Bleach and water is good for mold on walls, floors, etc, but not cloth unless it is white!

Don't take it to a car wash you will probably damage the canvas. Go to a camper supply store, they could give you the best advise. you will probably have to re stor the fabric with a water repellant too.

Clorox removes mold, not only from canvas but also walls, tiles etc. Dilute some clorox in water and spray, taking care not to inhale too much, specially not to get it in your eyes.

Ammonia does not kill mold. It's a grease and grime cleaner. Use bleach solution. Don't fold up the canvas unless it is dry.
