I have one of those steam machines from Walmart, not the carpet cleaner. This machine produces nothing but steam from a nozzle. I rent also and my range was gross like that. The steam broke up all that stuff. I used old towels to wipe it away and then went back over it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It looks brand new! The steam machine is around $90 and works great on everything. My husband even used it on the car engine!

Heat your grill on high until hot, then turn off grill, spray with easy off oven cleaner, wait 20 minutes, then wipe off. Sparkling new....then, after you are done cleaning, spray grill with a pam type spray before cooking to prvent sticking.
