Save coffee grounds to put in your compost or around roses.
Unused coffee grounds and beer eliminated white mold from mine. Fish emulsion is an excellent fertilizer.
Alcohol will kill scale and powdery mildew and not harm your plants. Murphy's oil soap (3 tbs and 1qt water) makes a good pesticide spray.
