I have a small kitchen about 8 ft wide and 13 feet long. There is one glass door which goes out to the balcony. I am thinking about putting a colored Venetian blind up instead of a curtain. Friends are telling me that it will look awful not having a curtain. What should I do? I have a cream colored kitchen and wanted to do a colored blind that will add some color: Thanks for any input!!!

Hi, I just got a brother vx-1120 sewing machine from my mother. I cannot seem to get it to sew correctly. The top thread is in correctly, but when I sew- nothing happens. The needle moves up and down and maked holes in the fabric, but the thres does not peretrate the fabric. Any ideas, Is there a bobbin somewhere? I don't know what to do. I opened the access panle on the bottom of the machine and nothing is caught. I do not know where the instructions are. I am trying to make a blanket and some pillows. Thank you.

How much money do these bulbs save? If you read the packaging, they say a pack of 8 will save about $50. I think that is per package for the life of the bulbs. If you divide the $50 by 8 bulbs and then by 5 years and then by 12 months, you're saving about 10 cents a month per bulb. Is this correct? So if you use 10 bulbs, you save a dollar a month on your electric bill?

I need to mow my yard and lawn practically every week. However, i'm not alwasys in town to get the things done. Even when i pay someone to come do the cutting, they need to come back practically every week. So, my question, is there a way to stop grass from growing so fast? I live in florida, and with all the rain, my grass has been growing at least two to three inches a week. I remember when i lived up north in SC, i only had to cut the grass about once a month or so. The climate is pretty much teh same with only an increase in rain this year. Any suggestions anyone?
