I just killed a female black widow spider that was crawling on my son's leg. (OMG i know) That got me thinking.. if there is one, are there many more? I know they arent like cockroaches; if you have one, you have a hundred you dont see, but this was a female. When do spiders lay eggs?

I am completely freaked out. Thank goodness it didnt bite me or my son!

We have an 8 year old son, and our neighbors are rude. Their 5 kids, the youngest being in middle school, are constantly swearing, name calling and even give us the finger! I don't want a bad example for our son. Is there any way to solve this short of attempting to talk to them? Their parents are even worse to deal with. It is so stressful! Please help!

My electric water heater is only a couple years old, but I hear that gas heaters heat the water faster and cheaper. Are the potential savings significant enough to justify replacing a fairly new electric model?

I have never had them attacked like this before. The flowers are fine, just the leaves. Can I do anything about this? I suspect a caterpillar of some sort as the leaves now look lacey. Plants at the front as well as the back of the house have been affected.

My girlfriend is a teacher. She teaches Pre K. She has been trying to find a way to make the bathroom door ring everytime the kids open it. Something to do with reminding them to wash their hands. We have tried numerous things but nothing has worked.

Hello. I bought my North London flat a few years ago and have just got to the point where I can afford to do it up. One feature I could live without is the old gas fireplace in the sitting room (one of those ugly industrial-looking dust-catchers with beige metal front panels and metal grille - as opposed to those funny retro style ones with fake logs, which would at least be a talking point). But British Gas have told me that it's part of the boiler so to change it/get rid of it i'd have to change the whole system - which would cost 4-5 grand! Anyone got any ideas on how I can disguise it or something? My flat is supercute and the fireplace so depressing! Mabe I should just move...

it has been blowing bulbs from day one in the bottom oven which we were told was due to a loose fan, still blowing bulbs! now i have to turn the whole thing off after using it as i have to set the cooking time timer to get the bottom oven to work, unless the fan runs permanantly afterwards. All the clocks settings are set up correctly and electrolux will not advise, but will send someone out and with no doubt a massive bill

I thought it was an avocado, but the "fruit" on it grows in groups of three. Inside the fruit there are about 6 seeds the size of quarter in length and hard as a rock. The leaves are oval in shape and green. When the fruit is ripe they fall to the ground bees consume this/ All that is left are the seeds

I was reading about making a basic wand, and most sites say driftwood is the best. I don't have any driftwood... I live in the mountains and it's very hard to find. They said other sticks will do, but I was wondering... would bamboo work? I have many bamboo trees in my backyard. It is smooth and very tough. (I had trouble finding a section to put this in)

I have a British friend who was surprised that I rinse my dishes. I thought it disgusting that she doesn't rinse hers. Why would you leave a soapy, still dirty film on your dishes when you can rinse it off? My question is if other Brits do the same, neglecting to rinse their dishes?
