My girlfriend is a teacher. She teaches Pre K. She has been trying to find a way to make the bathroom door ring everytime the kids open it. Something to do with reminding them to wash their hands. We have tried numerous things but nothing has worked.

I would try hooking a chain on the clacker of the bell and maybe thumb tacking it to the top of the door so when the door is opened the chain pulls the clacker and rings the bell. If not buy one of those security window alarms that advertise on television that buzzes when the door is opened. Good luck!!
At my son's school to get the kids to wash their hands properly the teacher told the to sing happy birthday to themselves and when the song was done the germs were gone.!

Bell To Hang On Door

Attach an L-shaped hanging bracket (the kind you hang houseplants on) above the door and suspend the bell so that the door hits the bell when it's opened, but the bell swings out of the way allowing the door to properly close.

A bracket (L or triangle type shaped) on the inside of the door suspended above with the bell on it will work (think country store) and each time it is opened to that spot the bell will ring....

Or a bunch of small craft bells tied together with decorative string attached to the door itself.... they will jingle each time it is opened also.

What a great idea, I love it, i wish these were in EVERY public rest room to remind SOME people =)

Best of luck

Stick a hook with the tacky paper backing on it (3m makes them) on the door and hang a cow bell on it from a string. Every time the door moves that cow bell will make heck of a noise.
