I have a British friend who was surprised that I rinse my dishes. I thought it disgusting that she doesn't rinse hers. Why would you leave a soapy, still dirty film on your dishes when you can rinse it off? My question is if other Brits do the same, neglecting to rinse their dishes?

well im british i do and always have rinsed my dishes my mum always did as well and my friend does so yes some do!! I also brush my teeth twice a day as well ;0)

I think you are right...most Brit's don't rinse their dishes....but once they see Americans do...they immediately wonder why they never did.
Its the same mentality that let everyone die on the Titanic.
They just aren't trained to look for new ways to see things.
MInd you American's look for new ways without regard for the effects ... and thats why we are being permanently told to conserve water and also why we have global warning.

I'm Scottish and I don't personally rinse my dishes ...... I let my dishwasher do it,lol! Oh! And by the way, we DO brush our teeth.
