lions, tigers, zebras, monkeys, palm trees (you know safari) how would a deer head that my boyfriend killed look in there??? too stupid??? he is about to faint to put it up...

I think it would look fine. I have several in my own house. It took my husband 13 years to get it on the wall though! It's a lot happier now than it was in the attic.

Like metaphors, you should not mix your themes. If you go with a safari theme, be sure that the animals that you will use would actually be seen on the same safari trip.
Like another posted said, the deer might be more appropriate for a forest theme.

I'd ask him to put his deer head in the office or some other room that he can decorate. A deer doesn't belong in a safari themed living room.

It should be fine. We have that theme in our home too! Actually, our deer head was the very first thing that went up when we moved in! Probably because dh was so excited to have a fireplace in our house he just had to get it put up above it! LOL!

Chop some of the points off of the deer and make it look like a gazelle. He still has his deer mount & you have a nice additon to your theme room. I'm sure he wouldn't mid you doing it.

I would not go with the deer head...
deers don't have the feel of a Safari!
But it sounds very fun! ....your project.

It will look stupid by it self. If you put more than one lion item in there it will look like a forest kinda thing. If I get what you are saying.

Animal heads always look tacky, unless they are very obviously fake (like the head of a teddy bear), and then they are funny.

I don't know that it would look too great up in the living room.
ask him to put in the garage. Most folks i know do.
