How much money do these bulbs save? If you read the packaging, they say a pack of 8 will save about $50. I think that is per package for the life of the bulbs. If you divide the $50 by 8 bulbs and then by 5 years and then by 12 months, you're saving about 10 cents a month per bulb. Is this correct? So if you use 10 bulbs, you save a dollar a month on your electric bill?

It depends on how much you pay for them and how much you will pay on the regular bulbs. They last much longer, saving you time and trouble, and there is less waste to throw away. They also use less energy, it will probably say how much on the package compared to whatever wattage you use. I think that the main point isnt the few cents or dollars you will save each month, although it does add up and why waste money if you dont have to?, but it is better for the environment not to waste power, and that is more important than whether or not you save in the long run.

Whatever you are saving on the electric you are spending at least 10 times (approx.) if not more on the bulbs themselves. So how much energy are you using to get the amount to purchase them in the first place!

In my experience they DO NOT last longer than ordinary bulbs.
