Fall leaves are number one. Free and they are great. Take a low vase and pick as many leaves as you can and place them in the vase. Great for the coffee table. Go to dollar stores for a lot of decorations. They are cute and look just like the small stuff you get at the mall. Plus if they break, it was just a buck. Potpourri is great too. Pumkin pie smells, or apple pie smells make you feel like it's autum even in March!

Make a centerpiece for your table with fall leaves, gourds, a small pot of mums, and nuts and twigs. These are items that you can mostly gather up yourself. Put the mums in a cut basket (spray painted an autumn colour, if you like), surround with the leaves, twigs, etc. Add a candlestick on each end. Very pretty and inexpensive. You can also make a wreath out of many of the same items. Just use thin florist wire to wire the items onto a straw, grapevine, or even a wire wreath frame. These can be found very inexpensively at WalMart, etc. Fill a glass bowl with small fruits and berries. Sit small pumpkins around, after having painted or drawn faces on them. Surround them, too, with autumn leaves. Have fun-I am sure your home will be lovely!
