Hi, I just got a brother vx-1120 sewing machine from my mother. I cannot seem to get it to sew correctly. The top thread is in correctly, but when I sew- nothing happens. The needle moves up and down and maked holes in the fabric, but the thres does not peretrate the fabric. Any ideas, Is there a bobbin somewhere? I don't know what to do. I opened the access panle on the bottom of the machine and nothing is caught. I do not know where the instructions are. I am trying to make a blanket and some pillows. Thank you.

I'm bored, so googled you an instruction manual. Good luck :-)

You can get threading pics from the following website: http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Brother_Sewing_Machine_Threading/brother_vx_1120_threading_diagram.htm

They also sell the manuals for the Brother VX-1120 for 10.00 plus 5.00 shipping.

Happy sewing!

Does the machine require you to push in a large button on the right hand side to wind a bobbin? if it does pull out the button then the machine will sew properly. If this isn;t it email me and we will figure it from pictures. If I could see the machine I could tell you.

Yes, there is a bobbin. There's a little compartment that should be right in front of the needle, that slides open. If that doesn't work, go somewhere that sells the brand and ask their opinion.

go on line to brother.com and they will be happy to send you the instruction book to your machine-you must give them the model number. You do need a booin with thread for the upper needle to catch and make the stiches. marlyne B
