Couldn't find it anywhere on the web but it seems mowers can get a sickle attachment. Might want to try a machete if you are intent on going in the yard to hack weeds.

They make a tool for that i dont know what they call it. It looks like a rake handle at the end it forks and between the two forks there was a two sided blade.and you just swing it back and forth.
