i want to take a wall out in my home. Its a wall that seperates two rooms (of course), but i dont want too remove the whole wall just a space about as wide as double swing french doors. My question is ...........Is it hard to do? Do you just cut the drywall and find the studs and cut the studs and brace or do you call a contractor? I just want the passage way to create a more spacey feel and look.

As consumers, what should we do in order to decrease the work for the recycling factory? Shall we need to seperate the different kind of plastic before we send it to the factory? And anything else?

I have a concrete basement/family room floor which I need to cover. I am considering covering it with concrete paint and a large, room sized rug versus laying carpet tiles. I don't want any laminate or wall to wall carpet. Any thoughts?

Ok I rent this place and the lease said if your late you pay and extra $50.00 per month well I did. Well one month I paid on the 14th and on the 16th which was a Monday at 1:30 they filed in court to eviction us. Now to remind you we had paid in full all late fees and all before this was filed. Well they droped the court date.

Well now they are still trying to make us pay for the late fees that has already been paid and a lawyer fee of $75.00.

How can they charge me for late fees I have already paid and a lawyer fee when we didn't even go to court? My lease says late fees after the 5TH will be a extra $50.00 a month. No extra late fees are stated. Should I wait till they try to evict us again and should my receipt's were I paid all late fee's or get a lawyers and charge them the fees and time off work? Please help!!!

We're building a new extension onto our house and soon I'll have a new room. I was wondering what I should paint the walls and trim, and what color carpet will be best. I want it to go with my bedspread.

My bedspread is all pastel colors, striped blue, white, pink, green, and yellow. The blue stripes are the thickest and most noticeable. I want the flooring to be something that could easily go with different colors, like, if I deciede to change my bedspread and paint the walls a different color a few years from now. But it CAN'T be white, because white gets dirty too easily and I don't think I'll have enough time to clean it :(

What should I do?

You know for the ceramic glass top, the cleaner says not to get it in your eyes but it says contains silica. Aren't you not supposed to breathe in silica dust or is that different here?

I'm tired of holding my breath while I clean my stove! thanks.

All of a sudden I have these tiny little nats? in the house, especially the kitchen, don't know where they came from. I don't have any food lying around the kitchen. Tried swatting them but they are so fast! Anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them? So annoying!

I have a house that has being rented for a period of over four years is a small home I bought it cheap and now it is time to sell it the value has triple , so now I am putting it on the market when I first bought it my mother helped my husband and I with all the paper work and all but she has since passed away, and now my husband and I have to take care of this sale ourselves (I have sold a condo recently but not a house) so we got an agent to help us the house like I said it has being rented but the back yard was neglected its a big back yard huge, the real state agent adviced us not to worry too much about the back yard and just leave it alone (right now it has dirt no grass) but I feel that if we do put grass this will bring the value up I am trying to get the most $ money out of the house that we can. And please only serious answers no rude or sarcastic answers.

I have been draining my water heater once a year, but I have never shut off the water to do it. I just thought that the water pressure helped to blow out sediment. How does shutting off the supply improve the process?
