Excluding other variables, a round table will be smaller.

Round may have the same diameter as a square is in width or length, but without corners it will at least, appear smaller. The issue however is a bit deeper than that. A round table still may take up the same floor and seating space, as most walls in any room are not rounded, and you'll still need to have comfortable spacing for the seating.

Comfortably, a round table should have a diamter of at least 48 inches to seat four without crowding anyone.

a round table is smaller, but by havin 4 chairs around the table may obstruct a path. with a rectangular table, u have an option of putting two chairs each along the lenght of the table on either side, which will leave the space on the other two sides (breadth) free. Whenever the table is in use , move the chairs around to suit ur likeing. i hope this helps

Most square tables have four corner legs and most round tables have pedestals right on the bottom center of the table. You are able to fit more chairs on a table with a pedestal. Best thing to do is get a table with a built in leaf so you are able to extend it when needed and let down to make space.
