So they can fit as many people in the building as possible. And also to make you appreciate your true house all the more.
I'm a Junior at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I live in a dorm (if fact, I am writing this from my room). I feel your pain...

To encourage you to shower regularly and to remind you to do your laundry before it becomes it's own entity and eats your roommate. Laundry creatures cannot exist in small dorm rooms.

They prob wanna get as many students in there as they can fit. The more students they can fit, the more $ they can make.
My sis was considering living in a dorm but she didn't. Instead she's living @ our auntie's & paying them $200/mo. She's planning on moving out & moving in w/ a cuz who we don't really know (our mom's cuz's daughter) & the daughter's cuz.
