I'm going to paint my living room which is all neutrals, dark leather furniture and modern cream accents. We have celery green curtains and I'm looking for a color scheme I can use as a tool to finish painting and introducing more color to the room.
I used to have a designers handbook in college like this, full of color combinations that work. Where can I find examples of colors online?

The field at the end of my garden is rented out to another farmer. He has just harvested his corn, but the land adjacent to my fence if full of thisle and weeds. I am so fed up with the seed heads from these weeds blowing into my garden as it a constant battle with weed control in my own garden which is very big.

Now when the farmer who owns the land used this land he always cleared any weeds and thistles etc., away but this is not now the case since the present users just leaves them.

What can I do and who responsibility is it to clear these weeds?

The urls point to 2 photos of the plant one is of the leaves the other is of the flower at the top. The leaves alternate and exit the center of and help form the stalk. They are furled(rolled) as they exit and unrfurl after exiting. The leaves are about 20"(50cm) from tip to stalk and the whole plant grows to about 7' (2.13m). It produces "offspring" very easily apparently via root propogation. We began with a single stalk 2 years ago and now have 9 stalks and 2 more immature ones starting. The plant dies rapidly at the first temperature drop below 32 degrees F(0degC). It comes back about the end of April and flowers grow about mid-July after the plant has attained near full height.

I'm about to lay down some wood flooring and I need to make sure the subfloor (3/4" plywood) is completely level. What's the best way to do this? I was thinking about laying a 7ft straight edge down every which way but there must be a better way. Any suggestions from the pros?

In my bathroom, there is a tile that has become lose. Can I just pry it out, then put new grout around it and it will be okay? I really don't wan to have to redo the entire floor.

Also, around the tub, the caulking no longer completely fills the gap. can I just add new stuff in the new gap, or should I remove all before doing so? I really want to put as little effort into this as possible.

and one last question. what's a good way to clean the grout (to get it back to a nice white)? when we moved in, it was already discolored, and I am kind of scared to bleach it because maybe it's too hard on the tiles? What do you think?

I notice there's a lot of weeds on my lawn. Just curious if it's better to spray my lawn with weed killer before the winter or wait till after winter to do it.

I have heard that the thicker the fabric, the better; is this correct? Something like a velveteen? Should the nap face downward, or does it even matter? I was thinking to attach it at the wall, on towel bars (using velcro) or similar. I have been trying to locate the "how to" on this project, but have been unsuccessful. I am interested to know how this is usually accomplished, professionally; there is no "example" within driving distance for me to "check out". I am required to be a jack-of-all-trades or problem fixer at my place of employment. It is not possible to hire an interior decorator or acoustics specialist for this project. Help! Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

It is an aircraft propeller of indeterminite age. It has some nicks, scratches and gouges, but is mostly smooth. I would like to understand how to grind, sand, and polish it to a mirror finish for display in my home.

If it is too involved to do in a reasonable period of time, I am interested in hearing recommendations for someone to do it for me in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Here is a partial picture of part of it:

How do I get rid of the ugly dark lines along the creases? It was made in Israel and there are no laundry instructions.
