Mine are filthy

Some are fabric, rubber, a couple have those stra type soles, one pair has cement on it- will that damage the machine?

I have got some stuff off by hand, it's not enough though, so no need to tell me off for my laziness, thank you!

Well, it's done, the washing machine still works, the flip flops haven't fallen apart- not even the fabric or straw soled ones. They are even a little cleaner than they were. Thanks for your advice!

depends if they are plastic, rubber, leather or material.

1. if they are material its best just to wipe them with a cloth and get as much dirt off as possible.

2. if they are plastic then the dirt should just wipe off.

3. if they are rubber then the same applies as in answer 2.

4. if they are leather then i would put some polish on and give them a quick clean with that.

You should be able to get some sort of cleaner to clean material flip flops, it should desolve the dirt, you then leave them to dry.

Dont put them in the washing machine as this will weaken the soles and damage them completely, it makes them soggy and they can break easily.

Hope this helps

if they are rubber they'd probably fall apart. Leave them to soak in mild soapy water overnight. Just give a small rub to the really bad places. Then drip dry.

YES its the best way to clean them!! It also makes them look like new and if thay have flattened soles thay will puff back up!! Go for it!!

Put what you like in there. They'll probably bugger the machine up, but who cares if you can't be bothered to leave them in soak overnight and rinse them out by hand the next morning.

yes you can. Slops are amazingly resilient as long as the do not have any leather or embellishments?! If they do then you need to wash by hand I am afraid

I would soak them in the sink with laundry soap and scrub them with a brush or old toothbrush.
