I have a ton of crocheted doillies, like all grandmothers had back in the 40's and 50's.Some are star shaped, others are round, but they all have a (fringe) of sorts. This (fringe) is much larger than the center design. I know you need a liquid starch and a large enough space to pin down the doillie. But I don't have a clue exactly how it is done, or how you get the (fringe) to a pleasing shape. I have seen how some (fringe) are like rolling waves. How do you pin a doillie to achieve a shape that looks good and shows off the detail of the crocheted pattern? I need serious help since I would like keep some of the prettier doillies my Mother kept of her mothers.
