Ask your daughter what she would like. If it is supposed to be a surprise, find out what type of style she likes then find things that match that. What one 13 year old likes might not be what your daughter likes.

With a baby blue, I would put a chocolate brown and cream, or black and cream. Check out Pottery Barn Teen online, Bombay Kids (Teen), Pier One online, and Ikea. It might sound a little contemporary, but I think a zebra print rug, with a cream down comforter and blue accent pillows and walls would be beautiful. You can get some great wooden letters online to spell out her name to put above her bed. I painted my daughter's letters light pink and found a great leopard print ribbon to tie at the top of each to hang from the wall. There is so much you can do. Just browse online to get great ideas....Good luck!~

at lowes they have bedroom magazines for all ages with a lot of ideas in it. Take her with you to the stores and let her pick out the decorations for her room like the pant color what kind of if any stencils or decorations. You can make this a Mom and daughter project.
well hope this helps you.

My 14 year old really loves the pottery barn style. You can sign up and get the free magazine for her to browse to see what she likes. They are really expensive but what we like you can find at Target (if you have one). There are different themes too like surf board on the wall for a surfer girl theme, island themes, locker desks, wall shelves. What's fun is when you find something you like, hunt is on to try and make it look like whats in the book! :)

My daughters room is pale blue, she has shaggy rugs, a locker desk, memory board on her wall for pics of her friends, phone numbers..her bed colors are baby blue, green and purple and lots of pillows, some silky, some shaggy make it more comfy...

good luck!

As an interior designer sometimes I go to Barnes & Noble or large bookstores and they have specific sections in this field. Grab a pencil and pad and jot downs ideas and make them your own.

Does she like pale yellow? Try yellow walls, a deep dark coloured carpet or lightcoloured floorboards (like pine coloured or something), simple baby blue curtains, a dresser, and let her hang a couple of posters orsomething. Also let her put something cool up like a cute armchair and some photos. Simple!

Ask her what things she likes, and personalize it, that's what 13 year old girls like the most a place that they feel is all there own.

Your best chance would be to go to Home Depot or a home decorator.
