I have avacado fixtures from the mid-1970's that are chipped and need to be touched up. I have tried Home Depot and Lowes plus numerous websites, including appliance manufactuers and distributors, but without success. Please help if you can...Thanks.

What sort of metal would be good for making bracelets like bangles, that would be very heavy? Something like ten bracelets would weigh a pound. What metals, aside from silver and gold, are good for jewelry? What is the heaviest metal? What metals are easy to work with?

House is 56 years old. Crack is 24" long and curves down from window frame. Was not there when I moved in 2 1/2 yrs ago. Window is double sash and won't slide up and down freely. Window seems off plumb with frame.

My garden is being overtaken by weeds this year. I am getting them out by the root, but they grow right back. Is there anything that can be done to prevent them?

We checked in Home Depot without luck. This is an old Ikea bed. I am not able to locate this bed on their website either. Any/all ideas are welcome.

I dug 2 holes and poured concrete in the holes and stuck the pole in the concrete, and it looked pretty good, but after about a month the weight of the clothes started pulling the poles over concrete and all. How do I keep this from happening? Should I dig a bigger hole and use more concrete? Should the hole be dug a certain way and a certain debth. I am serious. I hang clothes outside because I have a window air conditoner and the dryer makes my house too hot. I was going to hire a handyman to do it, but he wanted to charge me about 300 bucks for materials and all. I cant afford him.

This large fountain contains many gallons of water that produces a
rain effect. It is inside my home, in the entry hall. I turn it off at midnight and restart in the morning.

After about a week, the water becomes murky and I have to
totally drain and change the water...very time consuming!
I thought of adding pond water treatment to the water, but am concerned that the chemicals would get in the air inside my home.
This fountain is beautiful, but I would like to keep the water fresh longer.
Would adding essential oil, such as peppermint, help?

I'm trying to redo my room and I would like to know what free sites are out there to test out paint color combinations, furniture placement, that sort of thing. Also a website with DIY tips for decorating.
I've tried the Behr and Benjamin Moore sites, any other tips?

When the suns shining i like to just chill out in my garden with the missus / kids ect,
But my next door neighbour who is in his sixties is forever sticking his head over the 5 foot high fence being just TOO neighbourly for my liking...i cant go out in my garden without him comming over and talking crap.......if i do some work in the garden hes the guy who stands there watching you telling you your doing it all wrong, sometimes being a little patronising. I just cant relax when hes there. On a couple of occasions hes made a not so nice comment to the wife.Ive fallen out with him a couple of times but an hour later hes back like nothings happened. its not as easy as putting in a higher fence as the dividing fence is his.I dont really want to tell him the problem as im a nice guy and will feel bad doing that.Hes not some lonely old man, hes married and is always out in the street talking to ppl.
any suggestions plz?
