i have recently been in 2 (medium) car accidents and sustained a couple of injuries. partially torn acl and miniscus in both knees. it has been 4 months since i was given a clean bill of health, but i still have from mild discomfort to a very aggravating pain in my legs (not necessarily always my knees) . my shins are always very sensitive to touch. if i bump them into something, lightning type pain at times. i was told i have a small cyst in both knees and was told it is no big deal, hmm. I have flat feet and wear orthodix. i have been limping for over a year and have even lost a job. anybody relate???

There has been a bunch of talk about waterboarding being torture in the news lately. My question is "Is waterboarding torture?" By definition torture is ' (1)to cause intense suffering, (2)to punish or coerce by causing excruciating pain, or (3) to be cruelly painful.

From what I've seen of waterboarding it does not cause intense excruciating pain, it just immitates drowning. While that might be mentally taxing I'm not sure it equals torture.

So, right above the front of my right hip bone it had been hurting for a long, long time. I play competitive soccer, and there was always a nagging pain while a played. Soon, that area was always sore (when I was on and off the field). It continued for a long time without worsening and it didn't affect my running. It got worse and began to hurt when I coughed and sometimes when I played the saxophone. It also hurts when i "suck it in" alot. In the last week the pain suddenly got a lot worse to the point where I can't play soccer. In one game I played about 5 min. and was in relatively severe pain, but it hurt the worst when I coughed while I was standing on the sideline. Help!?!?!

I've had huge migraines for a little over a week now, and I've figured out it's from computer screens and TV. I'm on the computer for at least 2 hrs a day at school, one for my research project and one when I'm a library aide. What can I do to prevent the monsters from invading my life? When I type I change the background to black and the font to gray, and it seems to help a little.

I've had a severe headache for almost two days now. I've had headaches before, but they usually don't last this long and I try to ignore it. But every sound I hear just makes me wanna curl up in a ball and die. I've been reading on the internet about medicines you can get, and I think I'm going to go to the doctor in a week or so. But the problem is, my friend has migraines and she has Hydrocodone for them. She says they work great but they probably won't give them to me because people get dependent. How can I convince my doctor to give me those instead of the other stuff? I don't wanna beat around the bush with this, I can't take this anymore.

For the past year or so, every couple months I'll get Horrible strong chest pains on the right side only, approximately 5 inches from my underarm...Before I called the doc, i wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem. I usually feel the pain the worse, when I find myself getting stressed out...

I called in a refill for my prescription yesterday for my back pain, but also let them know that I felt like I needed something strong for when the pain gets worse every once and a while. I am running low on the prescription I already have, but the nurse just has an answering machine and says it can take 48+ hrs before she gets back to you. So, do I just wait it out or can should I call the pharmacy and get them to fax over a refill request for so that I could get it refilled tonight?

my boyfriend has had numerous addiction issues in the past - specifically alcohol, painkillers and cocaine. he has been in a twelve-step program for over a year and has been successful. however, he woke up yesterday with severe neck pain and after several hours of unsuccessful rest / moist heat / ice, he took two percocets, given to him by a family member, not a doctor. Since it is only going to be a minimal dose (family member has vowed not to give more than 3 days worth) and since it's being used to treat pain, he feels that it is acceptable. I disagree and would like some outside advice.

My symptoms are Major Joint pains in all joints except my elbows & right knee. Muscles fatigue and failure to function affecting all limbs but most often left leg. My arms and legs jump around of their own accord. Woke up numbness in right side of my face and had trouble focusing my right eye ever since. Head fog and pain in front of head and through eyes. The most help I've had is with Brufen (Ibuprofen) tablets they clear my head completely & give me greater limb function. Without them I get about 2hrs out of my legs before collapse. Numbness along side of Left thigh area is increasing in size. The more physical stuff I do the quicker my body deteriates.Resting doesn't stop it happening but sleep rejuvinates to a degree. I live with constant fatigue which is improved with Brufen. I suffer a lot of pain in joints & muscles that brufen & panadol help but don't remove. Does anyone know what this could be? My doctors don't know. 3 years now and It's getting worse.

For a week, I have suffered from this burning feeling in my inner thighs (not legs but seems like veins). I also have noticed that I am suffering with a migraine for the same length of time. I am concerned and will see a doctor when i return back to my home city. On vacation right now so I want advice. Is this pain in my inner thighs something I should be concerned about?

I am just about finished with taking the steroid, dexamethazone, and definately want to be. I don't like the side effects I have experienced while on it. Is the swelling anything I should be worried about or will it go away the longer I stay with the tapering. I have tapered down to .25 mgs. every other day for about 8 days now.........Thanks...........

I broke my left wrist at home and I've been off work ever since Oct. 17 and I've been taking Occupational Therapy since say Nov 11...twice a week...

My wrist is still too sensitive to use. If I forget and use it or say just can't use my right hand...I scream out in pain. When I drive...closing the door is painful...

Will it ever get better or will it always hurt?
I have to use my hands to earn a living...is it time to hunt a different job? Maybe something that doesn't require lifting?
I check groceries for a living and so many things are to heavy for my new problemed wrist...I can't even pick up a jar of spaghetti sauce...I've been experimenting!

So what do you think???

I just started taking Yaz, and I know one person already responded that they had pain in their calf too. This is not a strong pain, but it is there.

I do not smoke, and the actual chances of a blood clot should be very unlikely. However, just to be safe- I have to ask. Has anyone else had these side effects?
