Sometimes a tummy tuck can help with lower back pain because of getting rid of the extra weight. Extra weight can put a lot of pressure on the back such as around the lower back causing pain.

Related to what sokokl wrote, in addition to some loss of weight, there is also a tightening of the muscles and the sheath of tissue that runs over the muscle.
This essentially corrects a situation in which the abdominal muscles have been too weak and out of balance with the back muscles.
It's essentially the same concept that explains why abdominal strengthening exercises can help reduce or eliminate back pain in some people.
