So, right above the front of my right hip bone it had been hurting for a long, long time. I play competitive soccer, and there was always a nagging pain while a played. Soon, that area was always sore (when I was on and off the field). It continued for a long time without worsening and it didn't affect my running. It got worse and began to hurt when I coughed and sometimes when I played the saxophone. It also hurts when i "suck it in" alot. In the last week the pain suddenly got a lot worse to the point where I can't play soccer. In one game I played about 5 min. and was in relatively severe pain, but it hurt the worst when I coughed while I was standing on the sideline. Help!?!?!

Yes, hernia is one possibility for the pain but the only way to find out for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.
