On a daily basis the pain is anywhere from a 7-10 on a scale of 1-10. I have tried aleve, vicodin, and cold compress, but all seem to just barely touch the pain. Any suggestions?

My brother who has had back pain on and off most of his life recently had a facet block shot -four needles of cortizone. A couple of days later he couldn't have anything touch his back. Not so much the pain, but he had a sensation to the touch that he made him feel like he was losing his mind -sort of like a maximum panic attack. Then he had a cortizone epidural, and now he is in very bad shape he can only lay on his stomach or stand. Can't sit, can't lay on his back. I'm very, very worried about him. He's sounds suicidal. This is pain management at it's worse. What can the poor guy do?

I have an 'office job' - which means sitting at the computer every day, all day. My back problems range from 'twitching muscles' to general discomfort. What can I do to avoid my back problems getting worse and worse?

The problem is in the thorax area or higher lumbar region.

I sit down all day at work. I come home and when I sit at my computer I get sharp shooting pains in my legs near my ankles. I am 34 and spend way too much sitting at my computer.
Please Please don't tell me to go to my doctor because I am going to him anyway. Any ideas what it is? Or what I should do. I mean I plan to stop spending so much time at the P.C but shopuld I raise my feet for the blood flow??
If anyone say's go to the doctors or visit the doctors I will go mad coz I am anyway I just wanted a quick bit of advice before I go.

Thanks.

To doctors or people who really knows. I ask for your help.
Yesterday at night I was playing soccer in a indoor stadium (the floor is of cement) and accidentaly I fell down and
unfortunately I have struck very strongly my head (the back part) against the floor, it was so strongly that I could not move my arms, because I didn't feel my body I just could see al the roof of the stadium but I could no move my arms or legs after a while, then I began to feel my body and move it and until that momment I felt the pain in my head, the pain was very strong.

unfortunately the hospital service in my couentry is so bad, so they didn't give me any attention yesterday.
So my questions are: Do I have to get worried because of that accident ? Do I have to go to an expensive hospital so they can check my head?. What should I do?, wha should be the consecuences of that crash?

I had my tonsils out about a week and a half ago, (and I'm not so young anymore, so the older you are when you have them out - the harder it is to heal), and the pain medicene I'm on makes me irritable and paranoid, but I'd rather be on the "egde" than in pain. But, I do notice that people get frustrated with me because I've been SO irritable. Do you think I should use the medicene as an excuse for the way I'm acting or just apologize and be done with it?

Basically, my one of my molars was in a lot of pain which in turn gave me a bad headache. I went to the dentist that day and they gave me an antibiotic (they said it was an infection) and a pain killer. Also, they told me if the antibiotic didn't work I'd probably have to have a root canal. Now the pain is on the entire left side of my mouth (gums, teeth and even my jaw). Should I make another appointment or wait out the medicine, which I have 3 days left of?

It's been getting worse the past two years. It used to be just the arthritis in my right foot just above the big toe that hurt when I walked for very long. Now it's my right toe & my left heel - not my achilles tendon or the tendon that runs from my heel to the ball of my foot ... but my heel burns now when I walk.

I used to only have excrutiating pain in winter when I walked & loved it when summer came because I could wear flip flops & the pain was minimal. Every doctor or podiatrist I've been to has prescribed orthotics like they are earning commission for pushing them! My orthotics don't ease the pain!

This summer I've been wearing my rubber flip flops & was really looking forward to walking more for my health but, if I go out shopping for longer than an hour, I can hardly make it back home, my feet hurt so badly. The pain makes me hobble & I'm a very proud woman who does not like to hobble in public!

Please tell me how to end this pain. I'm allergic to Ibuprophin.
