I sit down all day at work. I come home and when I sit at my computer I get sharp shooting pains in my legs near my ankles. I am 34 and spend way too much sitting at my computer.
Please Please don't tell me to go to my doctor because I am going to him anyway. Any ideas what it is? Or what I should do. I mean I plan to stop spending so much time at the P.C but shopuld I raise my feet for the blood flow??
If anyone say's go to the doctors or visit the doctors I will go mad coz I am anyway I just wanted a quick bit of advice before I go.

Thanks.

I would guess it's the way your sitting at the PC. either that or you have a herniated disc.
If it's cramps from sitting to long try and get up after awhile and stretch, move around, then try it again. Your doctor will be able to tell.

Growing pains don't seem to be quite often sharp. This might be anything neuroligic akin to a nerve being compressed through a muscle, tendon, or bone. This may also be referred soreness from someplace else within the frame except your leg. My bet, with out any further understanding regardless that, might be a compressed nerve. This can often remedy itself if it is only a muscle spasming towards a nerve, but when it keeps past a couple of days otherwise you consider numbness or endured tingling to your leg you have got to see a health care professional immediately.

Do go to your doctor, but in the meantime practice this:

1. get up from chair and go walkies every 30 minutes..may be to colleague's desk, coffee machine, near door step of your office..etc.. anything to stretch your legs. At the least you may march on the spot by lifting your feet as high as possible. Do this for about 3 minutes.

2. Use a foot stool to raise your feet at least 9" off the ground.

3. Wear loafers shoes so you nay take them off evey 1 or 2 hours and wriggle your toes.

4. Every day soak your feet in warm water for at least 10 to 15 minutes. get foot-sauna..or foot massager..

5. if you have a garden, walk barefoot on the wet lawn.

6. Try stationary bike>>>
