I have read on a few fibromyalgia boards about people taking something called arnica to help manage the symtoms of their pain... my question is, where can I get it? Do I get it at walgreens, walmart, anywhere over teh counter? is it a pill or a plant? I've heard so many different things!!
Are there side effects? Noone seems to mention anything about that.

Also, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 13 years ago; however I've recently started having SEVERE muscle spasms. I've had them for years, but over the past year they have started to progress and get worse... are muscle spasms even a symtom of fibromyalgia, that is, severe ones?

I am a freshmen and college and got diagnosed with fibromyalgia this year. My pain is getting worse and worse and my doctor has done little to help me. I am going to see a specialist (rheumatologist) May 21 and was wondering if anybody has any good ideas of what questions I should ask him, or what I should make sure to tell him about my symptoms. I was told I should track my pain and sleep habits everyday which I am doing but I want this doctor to help me and if anybody has any good suggestions or even suggestions on what to do or even to ask for.. it would be greatly appreciated.

I have had fibro now for about 12 years. I don't take any meds or get pain injections. I am a delivery driver for frito lay so I have a pretty strenuous job. I have learned to deal with the pain, but the fatigue is really starting to affect me. Would like some suggestions from others with this condition on what has or hasn't woked for you. I have been experiencing severe abdominal pain for the last 3 days to the point of being intolerable at times. It is in the mid and upper right quadrant. I do not have nausea, vomiting, constipation or urinary symptoms. I have had a laproscopic gallbladder removal, total hysterectomy and appendectomy. After my gallbladder was removed, I had to have an ERCP because a gallstone lodged in my common bile duct (1989). I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist next Wednesday, but I am not sure I can tolerate this pain that long. I am on Ultram 100mg every 6 hours, which does not resolve my pain.

Where I live it was about 75 degrees a couple of days ago and within two days it has dropped to about 32 degrees and it is snowing. I ran yesterday and a little today and now my jaw is hurting pretty bad. I know running alone can cause TMJ pain, but can cold make it worse? If so, any advise? I like to get out and run even if it is cold.

I've been having headaches over the past few days. The past few weeks have been crud, i had the flu, and have been worrying over my mother and my pet. I've also just finished up my montly cycle. Are my headaches related to any of that, since all those issues are clearing up? And should i just take advil, or let them go away on their own?

My mid back, my ribs, my middle of my stomach and my leg hurts all at once.The pain gets so severe that i end up crying my self to sleep at night.I am getting an MRI tomorow to see whats wrong, but can u tell me some good meds that will relieve my pain?

Today I was sitting at my computer and I had to sneeze, so I instantly jerked my head to the side, and I felt a painful snapping in my neck accompanied with a burning/tingling sensation on the right side of my head. The burning went away after about 10 seconds, but the neck pain is still active. It feels like I might have pulled a muscle but I'm not sure. I can feel the pain in my neck mostly when I turn my head to the left . What could this be?

so i have gym at school and we run everyday, the after school i skateboard for like 4 hours. then play basketball. what could it be. like somedays i can barely move them cause their so stiff, but then days like today I can move them perfectly. could it be that im like putting to much weight on it each day, or something,, PLZ help...plus im only 14. I've had pain in the left side of my neck for the past 7 or 8 months but it has gotten worse lately. I have noticeable rock hard knots along the left side of my spine on neck to shoulder blade. The pain often radiates down my left arm and back. I've never had problems like this before and I really don't know where to start. Should I go to a chiropractor, masseuse? Is there any at home remedies I could try? Special pillow? Heat? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in the UK and have a friend in Australia who's gotten very low and depressed because of back problem & pain, he's frustrated and losing the inner fight. Its been going on quite some years. I wondered if anyone knows of any support websites for long term pain management, or anything of that nature, he's quite a loner and is only 40, any websites for back specialist advice as i think his problem is quite severe, its hard to help from so far away.
