You're just over using the muscles. You might want to rest for a few days and afterwards cut back a little bit on your activities. A hot bath will help when you have severe pain. I think you will be all right by just giving your body a break.

Running is very hard on your knees especially if your running on asphalt. Try getting some good running shoes or good skateboard shoes. It can make all the difference. I agree 14 is way too young for your knees to wear out. I use New Balance walking shoes and have found they really help wiht my aches and pains. Good Luck and keep up the great excersise but find ya some good shoes..and maybe some softer surface to run on.

Yes you can be wearing out. It's most unfortunate, but today, our youth are experiencing more Arthritis than ever before. Recently, I fell and the swelling did not respond to my treatment, and I eventually had to go to emergency. This is where I discovered through xrays that I had some arthritis. If pain does not cease after some efforts from you to maintain the pain and discomfort, you might want to confirm anything else that might be wrong.

I can't answer about the condition of your knees...I only play a doctor on television. But, start using a supplement such as Glucosamine with Chondroitin. It helps to maintain and even replenish cartilage in joints. I use it for my knees, and when I stop taking it I can really tell the difference.

they probably need rest. I would advise to put some ice on them. Your joints can be worked out quite a lot. And along with you hard core activites, make sure you get enough rest and have a balanced diet and not a mal nutrition!

hope they feel better!
