You get pins and needles when you sit on your foot for too long, that you've supressed the nerve endings on whatever it is that you're sitting on.

When the pressure is relesed (and sometimes before) your nerve endings go ape, and tingle, alerting you to the fact that you need to move that particular part of the body to get blood flowing round it again.

I get pins and needle feelings from my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome most of the time. I have experienced it from other things, but I mostly receive it when I get decreased blood flow from my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

It's when blood is temporarily stopped in an are of your body esp. your limbs, then the blood comes rushing back. That sensation is known as "pins and needles".

A nerve that is pinched can also cause the feeling of pins and needles.

I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to see what could be causing this problem.
