I went snorkeling earlier for the first time. I had a blast, but now I am feeling the side-effects. It feels as though my shoulders and neck muscles have all decided that they hate me. I'm not a very strong swimmer, so its very possible that I was swimming at an akward angle, and especially considering I was out swimming for about 3 hours holding my neck at very akward angles to check out all the sea life, so because of this I am very, very tense. It's so bad that even though I am completely exhausted, I can't get any sleep. I know a good massage would do me wonders, but I'm currently backpacking in a youth hostel solo - so there's no one for me to ask for help that lives within 1500 kilometers.
Anyone have any suggestions for what I could do, or for ways of coping? I have a white-water rapids trip to go to in 7 hours, and I refuse to miss that. Even if I can barely paddle because of the pain - I'm going. Thanks in advance!
