I'm looking for suggestions on making my hand stop cramping up in the middle of the night..its occurd everyday for two weeks. I'm a diesel mechanic and i'll get really bad hand cramps after about 3 hours at night... the only way to get rid of them is taking potassium and magnesium pills.
it wont prevent my hand from cramping up they only stop it while its happening... and wwill re-accure about every hour till i get fed up with it and just not go back to bed. i've been reading other related questions and im going to get a hand squeezer thing, to streghten my hand.. but, i'll go through about 4 or 5 pills of each.. potassium pills are 99mg and magnesium are 250 mg in a night, i wrap my hand in a heat warmer the best i can at night, nothing seems to be stopping my hand cramps.. what should i try?

It sounds like you're doing a great deal to tried to stop this from happening. I recommend you put on a analgesic balm, such as Bengay, to your hand before the heat warmer. You need to add 250 milligrams of calcium at night. You can increase the calcium to 500mg to see what level will work best for you.

I feel a massage therapist could help enormously with this problem. You'd be amazed at how much can be reversed through proper massage.

Also drink a hot cup of chamomile tea before bedtime to help relax the body.

if you have any further questions please let me know,

Sometimes I wear light cotton gloves. It seems to help.
