Pain & Pain Management - April 2007

That may seem dumb. But I've looked into it and it sounds like exactly the same pain i'm having. The only problem is everyone who's had it just about, has had it because of pregnancy. I'm not pregnant, and there's not a chance of it. Can this still be my problem?

I WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH MY HANDS ASLEEP AND IT HURTS... WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING MY FINGERS ARE SORE AND SO IS MY ARM. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY AND WHAT I CAN DO TO MAKE IT STOP. ITS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS.

I'm having pain just under my kneecap, towards my shin. When I work out, the pain subsides a little and is bearable. It really gets bad and feels like it's getting stiff when I sit still or walk. Any advice on what could be causing it and how to make it stop?

im not sure if i bruised my pelvis but i can walk on it still, its just when i skateboard it hurts at certain times, ive been skating 4 years and this has never happend, could you still walk if it was fractured or broken??? and if it is bruised how long will it take to heal???
i did not hear n e cracks and i have hurt my tailbone before, so its not that, and it does not hurt when i sit down,

I have had 2 surgerys on l5s1, making my disk hair thin and shaped weird. A NEW herniated disk on l5s1 that "may" be impinging on right s1 nerve root. SEVERE DDD in both disks, and a buldging disk l4l5. I also feel I injured more 2 days after my last MRI was taken, so these results may be even worse.
My options are PT and stay on narcotics the rest of my life, or a 2 level fusion is suggested. Being in so much pain, I agreed to have the referral to a spine surgeon, but I am having 2nd thoughts. I am afraid to have the fusion, and still have to be in misery and on narcotics.
I only know what I can read on google about the 2 level fusion. It seems the opions might be byest (sp) because they all come from the doc's. I understand it is not a cure for pain, but to help releive it, which means I might still have to take pills and be miserable? And if I don't have it, my back is only going to get worse and I might just be avoiding the inevitable. What do you think?

I accidently swallowed EXTREMELY hot mashed potatoes...it was very painful going down!! I am now suffering from chest pain! I also feel like a have a horrible lump in my throat...it hurts to even swallow water!! How do I help it? Any medications out there to heal my throat? Also...it seems to get worse every day....

I have a muscle spasm/tendinitis in my shoulder and neck. I was prescribed a high dosage of muscle relaxants but they don't make me feel any different. (I have been taking them for 1 day) I am still in pain with a lot of stiffness. Do they take awhile to work? Anyone have experience with them?

i have heard that if someone gets severly hit or gone through sever pain ,his mind stops receiving the signal of pain at that moment and atleast for a while he does not feel the pain. is that true , any body who has gone through such situation, please tell his experience

Yes, I heard it on the news tonight, it was bound to happen, we knew it would. Our Government has screwed our farmers over so bad and the land they once owned was anexed for sub division or malls for money, so now our grain comes from import which other countries use chemicals that the USA don't allow here, now it is not only in the pet food chain but human food too. They say it is not enough that would cause humans sick or death,, well every chemical is not washed out of the body and cancer eventually results. Never before kids with all kinds of cancer. We need to protest. Write our congressperson, lets make it an issue, lets bring these concerns to the paper, we need our farmers back, we won't buy anything that has grain in it that is not american grown. Lets write the companies that use wheat gluetin as well and tell them. We need to eat safe and our american farmers can do this. Farm Aid, if you eat, it effects you. Bring American farmers back, no imported grain from anymore!

My friend's father was diagnose with ocular lymphoma in the emergency room. After three days in the emergency care, he felt better and he want to come home. His doctor give him a choice to either to do the surgery, radiation, and or chemo.
He told the doctor to wait so that he and his family can make a decision. When the doctor release him, they give him Dexamethasone to take twice a day and a pecin for the side effect cause by Dexamethasone.

I've been known to exaggerate sometimes, but this time I'm dead serious. Over the past three days I've had horrible pain in my jaw up to my ear. I have trouble eating, talking or even smiling! I don't know what to do, meditation only relaxes me as long as I'm doing it, asprin doesn't help and my health insurance doesn't cover acupuncture. My husband will do stupid little things to annoy me just to get me worked up, I live with my mother in law (whom I can't stand,) and we're leaving for Vegas tomorrow night. We'll be gone a week and I'm scared that something bad night happen while we're there (like he'll cheat with some whore he meets at a bar.) I was openly worried till I saw it was bothering him so I held it in, then my jaw started dislocating every time I opened my mouth. Anyone have any stress reducing techniques that might help?

I recently got tennis elbow because I played tennis without an anti-shock. I began treating it by icing but this ended up causing me more pain even thought I did it for less than 15 minutes. What should I do to cure it and should i stop icing it? Any help would be great, thanks.

Right should killing me for 2 days. Went to Urgent Care tonight. Got a shot of anti-inflammatory & 'script for Vicodin, which I took 2. No difference whatsoever. Can barely lift my arm. Pain is really bad. I used pain rub creme, & took a muscle relaxer, too. No pain relief.
Anybody have a similar experience, or can offer some support?
