Cortisone injections do not instantly remove the inflammation. They have to do a great deal of work to get rid of the inflammation And pain. Normally it takes about one week for you to feel the full effect of the injection.
Place an Ice pack for ten minutes at a time, several times a day, where you had the injection. That will take down the pain.
Be patient and you will feel better. If you are greatly concerned contact your medical doctor.

I had a cortisone shot three weeks ago for a torn rotator cuff and my shoulder still hurts like well. My doctor said that it will take about 48 hours to make it feel better. I am still wating. I am ready to either break my shoulder or stick a piece of dynomite and blast it. If you are in pain you know what I mean. Please put some ice on the area and let it rest. Call for pizza and eat on paper plates but rest the area that you got your shot. I had PT until Mid February when it was healed and then I retorn it.

Cortisone shot should work within an hour or two or so I was told when I got one in my knee after surgery. It hurt like hell and never took the pain away. I will never do it again. I guess it works on some people but not me and maybe not you Good luck

If it was going to work, it would have worked by now. Cortisone shots can make it feel worse for a few hours, but the pain usually subisdes shortly after.

each of the 8 cortisone injections i have endured actually made me hurt worse for 2 - 3 days. it will eventually cease and leave you feeling better than before the injection. WARNING!: cortisone is a bad medicine that is used to mask pain and reduce inflammation. it does not heal anything but in fact can hinder your recovery. pain is good. it forces you to rest the ailing part of your body. after a corticosteroid injection you may over exert said injury causing a slower recovery or further, perhaps permanent, damage.
