The pain could be due to over use of the muscle. Think about everything you do that could be stressing that muscle group. as others have mentioned your bed can play a big factor in pain. If you have an old mattress it may be time to think about getting a new one.

I recommend you take a hot bath every night before bedtime. Afterwards apply an ice pack for ten minutes. The combination of the two will relax the muscles and help with the inflammation. You might want to take an anti inflammatory medicine in the evening such as Advil, to see if this helps.

I do recommend you get a massage from a qualified professional massage therapist. They could work out the problem in your muscles as well as help you learn what to do to stop the pain.

If None of the above works contact your medical doctor.

There are a lot of factors that go into back pain. First of all, do you have a good mattress that you are sleeping on?? Or is it a cheapy one?

Second, what are you doing throughout the day? Sitting down? Bending down? Standing all day? Are you a runner? If your sitting..make sure you have a good chair to sit on. Also try not to be bending up and down too much.

Shoes is also a big factor. What kind of shoes are you wearing? The feet have a lot to do with your back. Did you know that a foot message relieves tension not only from your legs but your back also.

I also hear the dehydration could cause not only pack pain but muscle pains, are you drinking plenty of water? Because when you get thirsty, its interesting to know that your body is already dehydrated.

And if nothing seems to work, go to the doctor.

Hope I helped. Feel better soon.

How soft is your bed? You could try putting a few blankets on the floor and sleep on that for one night to see if it helps. You could also use a hot water bottle to help relax the muscles. That's what I do. Give it a shot, it won't make it worse.
