I have been suffering long enoug with the shoulder/arm pain. I cannot even get up out of bed unless I grab on to something. When I sleep I lay on my arm, which I cannot help. I have very bad back issues too. I did see my orthodepdic dr last year about my arm and he said I have rotor cuff tear. I have it in both arms though. I wonder if this is connected anyway with my back problems. I am currently wearing a tens unit. I am a mess. OK thanks

My mothers was once the most active volunteer in our community and for the past year she has been practically bedridden. She has received many diagnosis and too much medication. Nothings working. She has extreme stabbing, burning pain in her legs, feet , shoulders, arms, hands. Her knees are swollen terrible. Whatever hit her, came overnight and changed her whole life. She is presently on Lyrica and Elavil as well as blood pressure medication, and Tramadol. Anyone have any idea what's wrong with her. The doctor's around her don't have a clue.

I have a TENS unit that I use regularly and I was wondering if I should sit or lay down and not move much when using it? I'm wondering if it works better that way or can I move round with it on and house clean or cook or something? Thanks

I started having chest pains when I was about 20. Im 26 now and it recurrs sometimes. Its tolerable; I usually feel it in the middle of my chest to the left. It added pain when im leaning and sometime when I bend over. It usually takes about a week for it to subside so I usually sleep on my right side, thinking that I got it when i am sleeping. can I get an advice if this a heart problem or just a muscular thing. thanks

I hope someone can give me good news. My Dr. recently told me that even though I am 44 I have the spine of a 64 year old. The pain is pretty severe and I do not want to take narcotics for the pain. She said this was my only option, that there was nothing that could be done for my back. Is this true, or do I need to see another Dr.?

I'm only 15 and I've been dealing with a lot of stress and loneliness lately. Lately, it feels like everything is...cracking, like if you cracked your knuckles. I've noticed that when I do it cracks louder and harder. Also it feels like my neck is cracking, but I think it's the back of my head (I've gotten headaches back there too). Other parts of my body that have been cracking are my toes, knees, elbows, and now my shoulders. I've also got panic attacks and have random pains over my body. I don't know if this is severe or not. If anyone has any answer I would deeply appreciated it. I'm starting to get very worried. Please help me...

hypothetically speaking how does one get started on this treatment? I've been on pain meds for a few years I recently tried not taking my meds and after about 24hrs I started not feeling very well and by 36hrs I was so sick everyone thought I had the flu which is what it felt like... I could not take it anymore and started taking my meds again within about an hour I was healthy again. I can not believe how sick I got..... people suggested methadone not subutex cuz the fact I have cronic pain so methadone may be my best choice as I still need pain controlled and methadone will do both control pain plus help me stop the oxycodone meds. Is this true?
Can I just walk into a methadone clinic myself and talk to someone about my situation? Will they start treatment that day if I tell them I am out of meds and do not want anymore refills and I am in withdrawl. How does this work? Do I need my Dr. to send me for insurance to cover...I can't miss work though.

Just a little background before I describe the problem.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed by an oral surgeon under general anesthesia. The surgery was painless, other than the fact that Ihad lot of swelling and muscle tightness on one side and could hardly eat for a week. In 2-3 weeks, the swelling has subsided completely, eating is back to normal. Now the problem.

2 weeks after my surgery, I started going to the gym and that is when I discovered that any kind of aerobic exercise (treadmill, elliptical trainer etc.) starts a throbbing pain on the upper side (of the side which had the swelling the first week). Initially I thought, that was because I was trying to run. The next day, I noticed that the throbbing pain shows up even when I do a brisk walk...I usually walk fast. I don't have any pain otherwise, have followed all post surgery instructions and am wondering why do I get the pain? Should I go back to the oral surgeon for a check? Please help. Thanks.

Some doctors say it's migraine, others TMJ disorder, yet none of the treatments help me. I'm on disability because of this chronic/acute pain. Any similar experiences? What has worked for you?

Due To Pain I am Treating Others Poorly?
I am waiting to have a 2nd Total Knee Replacement in 4 years. I am in my 40's. After a life of activity and fun it may be 4 more months before the surgery can be done due to finances. I am miserable. The pain is unbearable. The cement that held my replacement together came apart and is completely gone! My husband will not let the DR prescribe pain pills for me until after the surgery because he does not believe in pain relievers for any reason other that severe surgery. I am mad at him. I feel so bored I can't stand it. I have read, done needlepoint, everything I can think of without using my knee. I can't work. Losing all my friends. Nice, huh. My husband says I'm causing his life to be nothing but ****. He just doesn't how hard this is. How can I be nicer. I am tired of staring at the walls and I really don't feel like I bother him. I am going crazy and so anxious I could go through the roof. Are there any support groups around? Thanks.

I have been experiencing pain along my spine, my left shoulder blade, my lower back, and I get leg cramps. While I do not experience these symptoms all the time, I do have them often. The pain normally starts in the shoulder blade. They all hurt for several days and all at the same time. It hurts along my spine when I sleep, stand, sit at school, pretty much all the time but is really bad when standing and sitting. I have been experiencing these pains for the past five years (since I was 13ish).I was a dancer for many years and am not sure if I did something to myself or if it is something else. Sciatica is genetic in my family and my aunt has been suffering with it for many years. But I was also wondering if it could have something to do with eating disorders (i've been in recovery). Please help--I'm tired of these pains.

Hypnotising is all that was done but three hours after leaving the doctor's office symptoms of pain and fatigue set in. The pain kept increasing and nausea has been here today. Could this be caused from the bio feed back? I looked this up on search and all searches said no but my body does not take treatments as other people's bodies do.

Every time i walk or sit for too long my knee would start to hurt. it would start out aching and then hurts when i walk on it. After that it will hurt to bend it especailly when i sit down or lying on my bed and pull my knees towards me... its hard to walk up and down that stairs. it hurts getting in and out of my car. every time i bend it, it feels like my bone is being twisted opposite ways...its very painfull.
(its just on my left knee)

I do lots and lots of martial arts training(Capoeira) and spar a lot of people from other martial arts. I like to kick people's legs out from under them a lot. Which I've noticed has taken a toll on my bones, and I know they are naturally going to be conditioned and get harder, but is there any way to ease the bone pain/soreness until then? I have my leg wrapped right now which helped a lot. I also have pain from being kicked in the ribs and hamstring area, which has been a little more intolerable than I expected.
