I used to take prevacid for my heartburn a while ago then I stopped taking it when my heartburn went away but now it is getting bad again.My presription copay went up to $50 dollars for brand name medications. What is something good I can take that comes in a generic form?

Pepcid works well. Gavascon is awesome, but you know what works the best for me, and it is the cheapest by far is sodium bicarbonate. "baking soda" about 1/4 teaspoon in a 1/2 cup water, mix until clear and slam it down, chase with more water. Works wonders.

There is Zantac and Tagamet which come in store brands generic forms. We find Tagamet before you eat or immediately after works pretty good.

Try sucking on hard candy or chewing gum after you eat. Give natural methods a chance before you resort to more medication.

prilosec OTC is about 20 bucks a box, sometimes 15 if you catch it on sale. one pill a day, and no more heartburn!

when does this heart burn occur? Try changing your diet stay away from foods high in acid like tomatoes, drink milk and eat yogurt. Relax as stress doesn't help either.

prilosec works good, it's like $28.00 for 48 pills or u can buy cheaper boxes of it
