Problem could be that you haven't exercised for a long time and just started running. My PT said that generally the body doesn't accept stress more than 10 to 15 % every week. So any exercise should be gradually done. Give the knee some rest and don't push it too much. You can try RICE theraphy in the mean time to recover from any inflammation. And then gradually start physical theraphy. Best is to work with a PT and get this started. GOod luck with you

YOU have a meniscus tear in your knee , its the cartilage that holds your knee joints together , depends on how bad you tore it you could need surgery where they go in with a shaver and remove the piece of cartilage that gets squeezed between your knee joints , every time you move your leg. if its not that serious of a tear u can just take physical therapy , you are going to need to see a doctor , so you can take an MRI scan. for now put some icy hot on it , and wrap it up.

it would be in your best interest to have a doctor check it out. Anyone can suggest a lot of things that it could be, but it might be something serious that needs taken care of before it goes any farther. I know that isn't the answer you wanted but its never good when you are in pain and the bones in your body feel like they are doing something wrong.

Sounds like you have some inflamation in your joint. See your doctor. He'll probably take some Xrays to rule out fractures, then give you an anti-inflamatory drugs. If that doesn't work, he might give you a cordzone injection.

Sounds like torn meniscus...i just had knee surgery on both legs due to this. See your primary Dr and have him give ya a referral to see an orthopedic surgeon.
I went for a few months like this and caused major damage. I now have a cyst that is 1.7 cm on my femur bone that constantly locks up my patella. its very painful..the damage is done.
Don't wait like i did!!!
