Here's a two part question......I have arthritis in my knees but I try to stay active. I walk/slow jog a few nights a week. I take the stairs whenever possible and stretch regularly. My legs still feel achy from my feet to thighs. Since I am only 40 and otherwise in decent shape, I'm not real interested in taking meds. (Doc says it's just the arthritis and wants to push pills on me.) Is it possible that my footwear is more of a problem than my arthritis??? I wear just basic athletic shoes (read...cheap) instead of "Walking" shoes for regular activities or "Running" shoes when I go on my Walk/jogs. Do you REALLY need to buy the more expensive shoes? Do they really make a difference in how your feet and legs feel, even hours after an activity????

Is this a nerve related problem? Some kind of nervous disorder perhaps? What can I do to relieve the pain? Does anyone else out there experience this same problem?

I have constant pain in my lower abdominal area and the inside of my uterus high up which gets worse during my period but is excuriating every day. I've had a tumor and two cysts removed off of my fallopian tube and ovary. My last pap smear said I had severly abnormal pre-cancerous cells. I don't have much money and can't see a doctor and the hospitals can't figure out exactly what's wrong with me. Can anyone please tell me what is going on and how I can get help I can't take living in pain much longer. I would love to hear from anyone who also is living with these symptoms. Plus when I have intercourse with my husband if he enters all the way there is a spot that causes so much pain I have passed out. help please.

My significant other may have to work the day I get out of the hospital. My parents have offered to come get me and let me stay on thier couch overnight. Should I do that, or come on home and ask a favorite sister to attend me for a day or two since her husband is often on the road anyway?

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like my anus is throbbing! It pulsates and is extremely painful. Does this happen to anyone else? I told my husband about it and it has never happened to him. I have had a colonoscopy b/c of it but dr.s can find nothing wrong.

Pains in the lower abdomen, similar to menstrual cramps, but worse. Pain often shoots up into the ribs. Extreme bloating (4-5 months pregnant looking, bloating). Lighter periods. I’ve had urine & blood tests, as well as an ultrasound… Dr’s are clueless… any ideas?

Last year around June of 2005, I went to see a doctor for it and he prescribed Flexeril (if you any idea what it is, it basically just puts you to sleep) and told me to not work for two weeks. After that the pain still came back. I work at a textile mill in the packaging department as a material handler, constantly lifting boxes from 5-125 pounds every moment. There's not much I can do about that, because at 17 who else is going to pay $14? I've used over the counter muscle rubs and pain relieving creams. I find that Blue Goo is working best over ulta strength Bengay... but if I go back to the doctor, he'll just give me more flexeril and put me out of work for a few weeks. Any other suggestions??

It's right at my waistline in the back, I know the muscles are constantly being strained by all the bending over. Are there any pain killers that would work effectively? Or another muscle relieving cream that I should use?

The cramps I have are not like normal cramps which give you pains, they only come on at night and the feeling lis ike a considrable pressure in my calf which progressively gets worse. I have suffered with this for over 25 years now, and the only relief I get from smoking marajauna. However, I have now stopped the taking marajuana for obvious reasons, but now I'm becoming an insomniac as I can't stop my legs from aching?

I recently had a sympathic nerve block and the doctor hit a nerve and as he did, my leg jumped up behind me and I had a searing pain from the point the needle was in my back down a straight line to my foot. My whole body jerked. I never felt a warm feeling when it was being preformed and never felt numb or any relief. I was concerned that my body jumped so much with a needle in my back. Since then I have terrible back pain and never received any relief from this block. My question is, are they suppose to hit a nerve and could this have done damage to my back?

I'm having some pains in my eyes and it's been persisting now for about a week, plus or minus. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the pain at about 4, the highest 6.The pain is off and on at what I guess would be the back of my eye and/or side of my eyes. Anyone know what might be wrong?Again it's not that the pain is overly severe;it's just that it hurts enough and persist enough to bother me and have me worried.I dont feel like I'm going blind or any thnig, I can still see just fine;but sometimes when I move my eye it hurts, and my eyes are a little bit sensitive to light.

Any help or suggestions would be appriciated; Thanks!
