Loneliness is a powerful feeling, and it can be very painful. It is a feeling of emptiness. There is a sensation of isolation, a feeling of being cut off from other humans. We can become vulnerable and frightened.
“Lonely” is defined by Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary as “producing a feeling of bleakness or desolation.” It is a feeling of lacking something, of an emptiness inside, and it is not always discernible in someone’s outward appearance.
One researcher says: “In our society, loneliness is a secret we keep—sometimes from ourselves. Loneliness has a stigma attached to it. There’s an assumption out there that if you’re lonely, it must be your own fault.
This is not true, for loneliness can take root even when a person is surrounded by people.
When there is a lack of self-esteem, or lack of social skills needed to relate to others here too lonliness can overwhelm a person.
Some who had have no sense of meaning in their lives have succumbed to loneliness and have lacked the will to live!
Feeling then, arise from your thoughts so these are both physical and phycological.

the effects of loneliness are psychological at first and can be transferred to the physical body in the form of aches and pains. when the mind is ill it takes it toll on all that surround it by slowly making the person slip into depression. go on line to a local chat room and make some friends and go to some chat parties. have some fun or volunteer somewhere and have some fun that will make you feel better or get a nice kitty

Often times pets can have a calming or stabilizing effect on their owners. Pets don't judge. They give love almost unconditionally. They are not prejudiced or self-absorbed. They can make the worst day seem not all that bad when they come and curl up in your lap or lick your hands or purr in your ear.
