Yes it sounds like sciatic pain- does the pain shoot down your leg from the back of your leg? I too suffer from sciatica (that's what it is called) and you need to see your doctor while you are having the pain. There are medications you can take to relieve the pain. Good luck-it's a bummer of a pain- I once got it driving home and I had to pull of the rode because I couldn't stand to straighten my leg out to press on the gas pedal!

Sciatic nerve pain comes from your butt cheek down the back of your leg to any number of places along the way depending on the severity of your condition. How long have you been having this pain? Have you had surgery recently? Been non-ambulatory for a while?

Are you on your feet alot each day? What kind of shoes do you wear? And the weight you carry on you can effect how your legs feel too! Get some cusioned put into your heels or shoes you wear. And try some Ben Gay in the leg that is sore. It may smell a bit, but man does it help when you have an ache somewhere :)

Oh yea, it could be sciatica. A really good chiropractor can help with that. MDs only want to give you shots or surgery but you can get better with chiropractic care. I suffered for two years before going to a chiropractor. In two months I was good as new and have never had the problem again.

You need to be a little more specific as to where the pain is. Does it radiate? It does sound like sciatica or a pin ched nerve, but you need to be checked out to be sure and for peace of mind.

Possibly. If the pain runs down the leg, It's a good chance you have a disc problem.
