I am on percocet for pain after surgery. I cant sleep. I feel like I got to get up and do something. Whats with this. The pharmacy said it would knock me out.

Thanks for the info. Cant stand this affect. I will call dr for diff meds.

its called an idiosyncratic reaction. your system reacts differently than most peoples would to the med. if its relieving the pain id put up with it, if its intolerable tell your doc to switch to something else.

You may be taking to high a dose for your system or taking them too close together, drink more water, call your Dr. and tell him. They are not sleeping pills and you should never take them with the idea of knocking yourself out. That can be deadly. Try a lower dosage with a meal and see if that doesnt help the hyper feelings. With the right dosage you may feel sleepy and drowsy.

That is what they do to alot of people and let me tell you that is usually the feeling that gets people in trouble. You feel like you can do anything. Please be careful. I was the same way and ended up abusing them, in rehab twice and am now on suboxone and 3 months clean.... Please just becareful and try no to like them too much.

Then go back to the pharmacy and tell them what gwan or better still visit a specialist. please do so fast
