I recently had a sympathic nerve block and the doctor hit a nerve and as he did, my leg jumped up behind me and I had a searing pain from the point the needle was in my back down a straight line to my foot. My whole body jerked. I never felt a warm feeling when it was being preformed and never felt numb or any relief. I was concerned that my body jumped so much with a needle in my back. Since then I have terrible back pain and never received any relief from this block. My question is, are they suppose to hit a nerve and could this have done damage to my back?
