Pain & Pain Management - September 2006

we are going on holiday in a few weeks and my son has trouble with his ears (he has glue ear). is there anything i can do to reduce trouble during and after the flight?

Hey asked a question the other day about when I choked on my drink. For those who don't know I choked on my drink then I had a burning sensation down my throat to my breast bone next thing I was coughing up a little blood.

Since then I've had chest pains and they aint going. Ive been the doctors and they said if it continues I'll need an xray.
The pains are still there and are now spreading into my back I am also burping alot, what does this mean and why will I need an xray.

Every now and then I get a very painful tightness in my chest. It doesn't happen every day, but it happens most often in the evening. It's probably not a heart attack, I'm 18 and have good cholesterol and not obese.

It tends to get worse if I carry something heavy or even not so heavy. It also seems to affect my breathing a little. Like something is crushing my chest. I've had ct scan and lung xrays for somehting else. Nothing showed up to cause this discomfort.

I say "on the front of my legs" because the tightness and soreness is occuring right above my ankles and only occurs on the front of my legs, not the back. I usually start to get these pains after running for a few minutes; usually they start off as an ache, but then it begins to feel like they are tightening.
Any idea?

What causes the tear initally? Is this because of a poor diet? What are the negative side effects of Glyceryl trinitrate 0.2%. After treatment how can one prevent a re-occuring problem?

I have a weak back from carrying a cello around a lot. I haven't carried it much recently, but my back seems to have gone again, three days before I'm due to start at music college. I have had Alexander Technique lessons in the past, and will take them on again at college. Please don't tell me to see a doctor, as I fully intend to visit one when I move cities in a few days. But I don;t want to turn up with my back as bad as it is - so does anybody know of any exercises/sites that give exercises to alleviate it a bit?

What is it?
Its like a stich but worse. always on my left side.
When i walk, run and even stand still it still comes.

Concern over proper chronic pain meds?

At 43 I am on permanent diasabilty. I have tried Fentanyl, Percocet, Methadone, and am up to over 260 mg of Morphine daily.
The issue is a lesion removal from my cervical spine requiring 2 surgeries cause permant nerve damage.
Do any physicians feel another option is better as my tolerance to Morphine wanes ?

I have terrible back pain about 2 to 3 hours into my sleep cycle at night. I take a single lortab for the pain before I go to bed but it is quite unecessary considering my pain doesnt start for a few hours later. It would be awesome to be able to slip some form of covering over the med that would allow it to start working 3-4 hours after I take it.

I was sitting down at my dad's,and when I went to get up I had a sharp pain in the upper middle chest area.The pain went from my upper right side to my upper left side.I had to sit back down.I couldnt move that well for a few minutes but when I could the pain was still there and was sharp.After it dulled it felt like a bruise in the middle of my upper chest.Now I am having problems in my lower left side of my stomach.When I drink a bacardi a couple days ago I also was in tears due to the burning it caused in the middle upper stomach,chest area.Does anyone have a clue what this is?I was just wondering I may be going to doctor soon for it.

OK, now first off I shower and I was my feet/toes, but sometimes not often but I get this feeling in between my toes that is very very irreatating its like a itch that cant be scracthed it wont go away no matter what I do, I RUB IT, I SCRACTH IT, no matter what, sometimes it wakes me up. what is it and why does it happen. Its a feeling I cant explain. My feet are clean...please help..and has this happen to anyone??

for about 24 hours ive had this sharp pain in my right shoulder blade area when i move or inhale........it comes and goes though.....hasnt been constant.....tylenol did not help much......also have had a little trouble breathing....or else it just feels like that cuz of the pain i have......but what could this be? could it be from lifting something heavy? please help! im really scared.... its not like anything wrong with mi lungs or ne thing is it???????

ive been in alot of pain and have been goin heavy on the pain killers. i just wanted to know whats my limit until i can get realy sick. please dont say, "read the bottel" cause u dont OD if u take that much. And dont say the whole bottle.

I take 1 loratab evernight before bed. I have been now for a month and 2 weeks. after I broke my ankle. Can this cause me to become addicted at this stage ? DOes loratab make u really tired the next day ?
