I was sitting down at my dad's,and when I went to get up I had a sharp pain in the upper middle chest area. The pain went from my upper right side to my upper left side.I had to sit back down.I couldnt move that well for a few minutes but when I could the pain was still there and was sharp. After it dulled it felt like a bruise in the middle of my upper chest. Now I am having problems in my lower left side of my stomach. When I drink a bacardi a couple days ago I also was in tears due to the burning it caused in the middle upper stomach, chest area.Does anyone have a clue what this is?I was just wondering I may be going to doctor soon for it.

Several possibilities come to mind.

It could be an ulcer--in fact it sounds a lot like one.

Drinking a Bacardi under those conditions is like taking poison.

See a physician if it continues. If it is nothing it will probably not reoccur. If the pain was really bad you probably should go to the doctor anyway.

It sounds like an ulcer, have you had repeated episodes of heartburn recently? Especially after eating acidy foods (pizza, onions, citrus) or when drinking alcohol. Think of it like an open sore inside your stomach, these kinds of things upset the acid and make it eat on the sore even more, and like any sore alcohol burns like the devil. I've had ulcers throughout my entire life, some ppl are just prone to them, and stress is a huge cause! Talk to your doctor and they can get you on the track to recovery. Prilosec OTC (over the counter) works great for controling heartburn and allows the body to heal the ulcer.

it might be just wind or what they call 'heartburn'. A little antacid should help. And lay off those bacardi's and carbonated drinks for a while
