Every now and then I get a very painful tightness in my chest. It doesn't happen every day, but it happens most often in the evening. It's probably not a heart attack, I'm 18 and have good cholesterol and not obese.

Do you have a family history of heart disease?

I would be asking your doctor for a full check up just in case.

It could be all the things mentioned already, anxiety, acid reflux, etc. When my children were younger and I was picking them up all the time I separated a rib and had the same kind of pain.

Since it could be so many things, you really should have a doctor check it out. You wouldn't want to treat anxiety the same way as you would acid reflux.

Get to your doctor
You don`t have to be fat to have a heart attack ,I had one and was only 8 stone ,
could be indigestion but I wouldn`t take it at that
Put your mind at rest go to your dr have an E.C.G it will only take a few minutes and may save your life ,

It could be caused from anxiety or it could be something as simple as a muscle spasms. You should see a doctor and have a physical, just to be safe. Don't assume anything! If it is related to your heart it is better to find out as soon as possible!

it could be a panic attack which many describe as feeling similar to a heart attack. are you stressed just now or has something bad happened to you recently. put your mind at rest and see your doctor he/she wont laugh at you or accuse you of wasting time as this is a genuine concern of yours

You could be having a panic attack. Or perhaps it is heart burn or acid reflex. You are not too young for that.
