Hey asked a question the other day about when I choked on my drink. For those who don't know I choked on my drink then I had a burning sensation down my throat to my breast bone next thing I was coughing up a little blood.

Since then I've had chest pains and they aint going. Ive been the doctors and they said if it continues I'll need an xray.
The pains are still there and are now spreading into my back I am also burping alot, what does this mean and why will I need an xray.

Hi well first off all change your gp i cant believe your dr didnt even look into this further whats he up too.Your gp should off sent you straight up to the A/E dept for an x-ray not later, there could be a number off things wrong and they could be serious.Coughing up blood and also getting chest pains is not a good sign at all. Please get yourself up to the hospital, they will investigate fully,x-rays,bllod tests, scans.Having an x-ray is quite normal so dont worry, they can tell alot from these looking at the chest cavity, cloudy areas etc so dont worry.Hope it all goes ok and good luck.

9 out of 10 this is going to be the doings of an ulcer you've already had, and is now very active again, the burping is basically acid reflux, try some tagament, zantac, prilosec thing of this nature to help the healing until you get treatment, they'll probably end up giving you nothing more than Nexium, basically the same as the above mentioned meds, and tell you stay away from things that can make the ulcer worse, while the nexium "key word here being :TRIES:" to heal it, all this assuming that is what your problem is....But that is exactly what it sounds like.....lance...I would like to know what they ( the Doc's) end up saying, if ya see me on here maybe you could let me know.....thanks...Lance 27, GA.

Don't mean to frighten you but go to a&e and ask them it could be a lot of things some minor but with the show of blood and continuing pain get a checkup now if not sooner,Good Luck.
p.s.x/ray is for diagnosis and elimination purposes.

My first guess is that you have a bleeding ulcer/acid reflux, which can be pretty serious. I'd insist on definitive tests, especially in your case where you are coughing up a little blood.

When you choked, you probably have either split part of the lining in your throat or disturbed an ulcer. If it carries on, you need to go back to the quacks.
